El 26 de febrero, a las 10 de la mañana en el Auditori del Pier01, llega la tercera entrega de ‘Investment Round’, una convocatoria privada para startups promovida por Tech Barcelona en colaboración con Aptki que pone a emprendedores (asociados a Tech Barcelona) e inversores en la misma mesa. Las 2 o 3 startups seleccionadas cada convocatoria podrán pitchear su proyecto ante una firma inversora invitada por nuestro partner Aptki. Las startups no solo recibirán feedback; también la oportunidad de construir una relación de futuro con la empresa inversora, que en esta edición será JME Ventures, que será representada por su asociado Jordi Noguera-Roca.

TESIS DE INVERSIÓN

  • Early Stage, España (o españoles por el mundo).
  • Invierten en pre-seed hasta serie A
  • El ticket puede oscilar entre 100K€ y 2 Mio€
  • Generalistas (agnósticos en el sector y modelo de negocio).

Las startups candidatas que no hayan sido seleccionadas también tienen la oportunidad de acceder a la red de contactos de Aptki y ser recomendada o puesta en contacto con alguna otra firma con la que pueda encajar.

About Giga:

Giga is a joint initiative by UNICEF and ITU that aims to connect every school worldwide to the internet, providing young people with access to opportunities and knowledge. It focuses on bridging the digital divide by building and optimizing public sector connectivity networks, particularly in underserved regions, to support equitable access to education, healthcare, and governance.

Hackathon Challange

The AI for Connectivity Hackathon II: Building Resilient Networks challenges participants to develop open-source AI solutions for managing public sector networks, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable operations for schools and healthcare facilities in underserved regions. The goal is to improve planning, procurement, operations, and maintenance using AI, addressing challenges like high costs, energy inefficiency, and network failures while enhancing access to critical services. Winning teams get mentorship, resources, and technical credits to develop their solutions further.

How to secure communications in space? Applying cybersecurity to inter-satellite links

  • Elena Fernández – Researcher and PhD Candidate at the Space Communications research group – i2CAT The Internet Research Centre

Mega constellations are pushing the boundaries of state-of-the-art. For example, achieving communications between satellites is becoming crucial to manage and exploit networks of satellites effectively. This is where research on making inter-satellite links possible and performing comes into play. Solving this challenge is not enough, as nowadays security is a must in any system design. That’s why in this session we will show how the collaboration between i2CAT and our partner Osmium Solutions is advancing the field of secure satellite-to-satellite communications. Researcher Elena Fernandez will explain our investigation into inter-satellite links, meanwhile, Juan Grosso will share the results on how to effectively apply cybersecurity principles and techniques to space links depending on the scenario.
