Miguel Vicente Re-elected as President of Tech Barcelona

Barcelona, March 3, 2025 – Serial entrepreneur and investor Miguel Vicente has been re- elected as President of Tech Barcelona, the non-profit association that promotes Barcelona’s digital and tech ecosystem, representing over 1,400 members—mainly entrepreneurs—and 100 corporate partners. His election was officially confirmed today at the General Assembly of members, held at Pier07.
Miguel Vicente, key driver and initial investor in the association, is a successful entrepreneur known for founding companies such as LetsBonus, Glovo, and Wallapop. He reaffirmed his commitment to Tech Barcelona’s growth and its crucial role in developing the city’s tech ecosystem: “We have successfully positioned Tech Barcelona as a leading hub for technology and entrepreneurship in Europe, with flagship initiatives like the ‘Piers’ and Tech Spirit Barcelona, creating a significant economic and social impact for the city.”
Vicente added, “We remain as passionate as we were on day one about strengthening relationships with both public and private stakeholders, becoming a unifying platform for entrepreneurial initiatives that share our DNA. At the same time, we aim to establish new international partnerships to further support startups, corporations, investors, and institutions. Our goal is to keep fostering an environment that nurtures innovation and entrepreneurship, attracting top talent and high-impact projects, increasingly tied to science and technology.”
The new Board of Directors, led by Miguel Vicente as President and Ignasi Costas as Secretary General, maintains the majority of its previous members while incorporating nine new ones, with a strong presence of women and young professionals. Joining the team are notable entrepreneurs and investors, including Montserrat Vendrell (Aliath Bioventures), Marcel Prunera (Crea Inversión), Maria Mora (Foment del Treball), Rita Almela (World Trade Center Barcelona), Marina Saurí (Qisu Brand), Gina Vidal (Synastry Hub), Ana Jipa (Olyn Lab), Roger Casals, and Elena Rico (Impact Partners), further diversifying the leadership team’s expertise and experience.
Over the past few years, Tech Barcelona has solidified its position as one of Europe’s top tech associations, boasting more than 1,400 members and over 100 corporate partners backing the initiative. Thanks to its efforts, the organization was recently recognized as a ‘Startup Ecosystem Star’ by the International Chamber of Commerce and Mind The Bridge in Paris. The success of its public-private collaboration, alongside support from key civil society institutions, has helped Barcelona establish itself as a global tech hub.
