The impact of the digital transformation, accompanied by the unstoppable advancement of technology, has already revolutionized most sectors to the point of artistic representations. It changes the way we create and access art, but also the creative process, open to the wide range of possibilities offered by the digital framework.

We have gone from digitizing culture to digital culture. That is, from the digitization of traditional artistic and cultural formats to the generation of new specific digital forms, which could not have happened without the characteristics of new technologies.

In the last year, with confinement and social distance, this migration to alternative formats has been accelerated in many areas: events, audiovisual centers, digital rights, etc. At the same time, the collaborations between the arts, industries and digital technologies, and the explosion of the famous NFTs flying over everything.

As part of the sessions organized by Hac Te, the hub of art, science and technology in Barcelona, ​​we talk about culture and digitalization in this round table presented by Eva Rosell, Strategic Project Director of Barcelona Tech City, moderated by Alba Colomo, professor at UOC and done by the following speakers:

Hac Te is the hub of art, science and technology in Barcelona born in December 2020 in order to explore and develop the intersections between these knowledge fields. This cross-cutting initiative is made up of Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Fira de BarcelonaInstitut de Ciències Fotòniques (ICFO), Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC), Barcelona Tech City, Hangar, New Art Foundation and Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST). Plus, it also has the support of Ajuntament de Barcelona, Generalitat de Catalunya and Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona.
