We want you to join us! Come join the global movement of 18 Chapters and 45,000 people around the world. Techfugees hackathons bring together the tech community, refugees and NGOs to identify the real challenges of refugees on the ground and generate new tech solutions to address these challenges.

#Hack4refugees by Techfugees Barcelona is the first hackathon of its kind in Spain and will open up opportunities to:

Create actual solutions to help with the refugee journey and settlement
Welcome former refugees into the local tech community
Build community and create a bank of knowledge.
You can join Techfugees as a team or as an individual looking for a team – we’ll help you all the way. You might be a:

Visionary – you see what the future could be and have ideas about how to make it happen
Hustler – you can build relationships and turn a vision into a reality
Hacker – you take a vision and work out how to prototype it and get feedback
Designer – you walk in the customer’s shoes and work out the look and feel of the vision
Enthuser – you’re just keen to come along and find out where you fit!
It doesn’t matter if you’re not a “techie” and you have no idea what a hackathon is: everyone is welcome!

Los Hackathones de Techfugees juntan a la comunidad tecnológica, personas refugiadas y ONGs para identificar retos prácticos y solucionarlos a través de la tecnología.

#Hack4refugees es el primer Hackathon organizado por Techfugees Barcelona y va a abrir oportunidades de:

Crear soluciones para la acogida de personas refugiadas.
Dar la bienvenida a personas refugiadas en las comunidades tecnológicas.
Construir conocimiento.
Puedes unirte al Hackathon de Techfugees con un equipo o individualmente – te ayudaremos en el proceso. Puedes ser una persona:

Visionaria: Ves cómo debería ser el futuro y tienes ideas para que esto suceda
Relaciones: Puedes construir sinergias y aterrizar a la realidad una visión.
Hacker: Puedes prototipar una visión y obtener aprendizajes de su testeo.
Diseñadora: Empatizas con el cliente y ves cómo se siente.
Entusiasta: Solamente te falta venir y ya verás dónde te unes.
No hace falta que estés muy familiarizado con la tecnología y que sepas de qué va un Hackathon: ¡todo el mundo está bienvenido!

ABOUT TECHFUGEES

Founded in 2015, Techfugees is an international non-profit organization coordinating the commitment of the tech community to contribute to build solutions for and with displaced people and to meet their needs. Techfugees operates in five priority areas where tech can have a significant impact: access to rights and information, education, health, employment and social inclusion.

Since its creation, Techfugees has grown into 18 chapters lead by 50 volunteers organizing hundreds of dedicated events around the world, including more than 30 hackathons and two Global Summits and supported by an online community of more than 45000 members.

Fundado en 2015, Techfugees es una organización internacional sin ánimo de lucro que coordina el compromiso de la comunidad tecnológica para contribuir en la creación de soluciones con y para las personas migrantes. Techfugees opera en cinco áreas prioritarias donde la tecnología puede tener un impacto significativo: acceso a la información, educación, sanidad, empleo e inclusión social.

Desde su creación, Techfugees ha crecido en 18 emplazamientos, con unas 50 personas voluntarias que lo coordinan, organizando cientos de eventos en el mundo incluyendo más de 30 hackathones y dos Encuentros Globales y soportado por una comunidad online de más de 45000 miembros.
