Eurecat joins as Institutional Partner

The agreement promotes the growth of Barcelona’s technological and digital ecosystem, boosting technology transfer processes and accelerating the dynamics of innovation.
Barcelona, 8 May 2024. – Technology centre Eurecat has joined Tech Barcelona as an Institutional Partner with the aim of fostering technology transfer processes and accelerating the innovation dynamics of Barcelona’s startups and corporations. The agreement represents a significant opportunity for collaboration and advancement in applied research and technological development in the region.
As a result, Eurecat will provide companies and startups in the Tech Barcelona ecosystem – made up of more than 1,400 members and 90 partners – with new resources to facilitate the generation of technological solutions that respond to their innovation challenges, both in the approach to new products, services or innovative processes, and in the development of concept and prototype tests and support in their scalability.
“Eurecat technology centre will collaborate with Tech Barcelona as an Institutional Partner with the aim of bringing its multi-technology capabilities to its ecosystem of companies and startups and facilitating innovation and technology transfer as a lever to generate differential value, competitiveness and growth,’ said Miquel Rey, Business general director at Eurecat.
‘We are confident that this collaboration will add value to the technological differential of the Tech Barcelona ecosystem, bringing Eurecat’s knowledge to help entrepreneurs and investors achieve their growth objectives through technology transfer and the development of solutions that benefit both locally and globally,’ said Miquel Rey, who stressed ‘Eurecat’s commitment to excellence in technological innovation and collaboration with other entities in the sector to promote technological, business and scientific progress in Barcelona and beyond.
According to Miquel Martí, CEO of Tech Barcelona, ‘the association is a transversal platform that integrates the ecosystem and, for this reason, it is crucial to have reference centres in digital transformation and technology such as Eurecat. This collaboration will allow us to accelerate the innovation processes that we promote through our activity with start-ups and large companies’.
Overall, the technology centre offers startups its highly advanced skills and knowledge in digital, industrial, biotech and sustainability technologies: from artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, cybersecurity and robotics, to quantum technologies, voice technologies and augmented and virtual reality, among others.
