IFCO establishes its new global digital hub at Pier01

Barcelona, November 18, 2024. – IFCO, a world leader in reusable packaging solutions for fresh food, has opened a global digital hub at Tech Barcelona’s Pier01. This new hub in Barcelona will strengthen IFCO’s ability to provide real-time tracking and data-driven analytics to its customers around the world, promoting transparency, efficiency and sustainability throughout the supply chain.

Specifically, the hub starts operations with a team of 25 employees and the forecast to grow to 50 employees in the next year. This team of technology profiles will be responsible for integrating advanced tools, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) or the Internet of Things (IoT), into its reusable transport containers (RPCs) to provide location and status updates, allowing customers to optimize container usage, reduce environmental impact and streamline logistics.
