On Wednesday, November 13th, Tech Up Nights return to the terrace of Pier01! In its 15th edition, this event will feature tech use cases by Eurecat & Mediamarkt, followed by a networking session designed by and for tech profiles.

Tech Up Nights is an initiative created together with Ocado Technology with the aim of bringing together the tech community of Barcelona. Our goal is to inspire you with high-quality content and provide the opportunity to establish an open dialogue between technical attendees and tech speakers. We aim to create a space for engineers, data scientists, UX specialists, software product managers, and similar profiles to share best practices and challenges, learn from mistakes, and solve doubts.

• “Smart Tools for Summarizing Audiovisual News Content”
  By Rafael Redondo Tejedor (AI and Computer Vision Researcher, and Head of the Image Group at Eurecat’s Multimedia Technologies Unit). Eurecat will delve into video summarization, which is the creation of a concise and coherent summary of a longer video by selecting key moments. In the media industry, this technology can enable new smart tools to search within large media databases, or create more attractive versions news, interviews or longer events. In this talk, we will go through innovative technology based on the combination of large language models (LLMs) and speech transcription to assist in the automatic generation of audiovisual summaries, including the integration of an intuitive and functional UX designed and validated by several professional profiles in the media sector.
