- “How Ocado Technology reduced cloud costs without stifling innovation”, by Kevin McCormack, Associate Engineering Director at Ocado Technology. Kevin will be presenting the talk delivered at the AWS Summit London, April 2024.
- “HoloMIT: Realtime holoportation platform”, by Sergi Fernández, Media & Internet Area Director at i2CAT; Mohamad Hjeij, Media Internet Research Engineer at i2CAT; & Miquel Angel Pérez, Knowledge and Technology Marketing at i2CAT. i2CAT will present an innovative technology solution for holoportation: HoloMIT. This technology is able to reduce data volume, bandwidth and computational requirements for the end-user to make immersive, 360º experiences possible on current devices. They will also showcase some of the use cases they have developed in different environments, e.g. with TV3’s show Euforia or with a Museum in Vilanova.
The event will be held in English.

- Manuel Portela, investigador postdoctoral associat al grup de recerca Web Science and Social Computing del Departament de Tecnologies de la Informació i les Comunicacions de la UPF, president de l'Associació Dades pel Benestar Planetari (DATALOG) i investigador extern del Centre d'Investigació Conjunta de la Comissió Europea. Va començar la seva trajectòria a la Universitat Pompeu Fabra el 2019 després d'acabar el seu doctorat en Geoinformàtica dins d'un programa Europeu Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. Desenvolupa la seva recerca en temes d'intel·ligència artificial responsable, justícia algorítmica i governança de dades.
- Paula Boet, alumni del Grau en Filosofia, Política i Economia i assessora de polítiques a l’Ajuntament de Barcelona. Ha estat coordinadora de projectes de drets digitals, també a l'Ajuntament de Barcelona, i coordinadora de la Cities Coalition for Digital Rights, una xarxa de més de 50 ciutats d’arreu del món que treballen per una digitalització justa i basada en drets. Està especialitzada en tecnopolítica i drets digitals.
